Beer Madness – And The Winner Is …
Remember all that excitement back in March about college basketball. Well now that’s over, Kentucky won and I didn’t win my bracket (although I came in a decent fourth place in one). There was also another tournament going on back then too. It was called Beer Madness from the Washington Post. 32 beers were put on a bracket in four categories and went head to head in heads up games. That concluded too and the winner was posted back on April 11th. I made some predictions of my own back then so let’s check out the winner and see how I did.
My final four picks and results were:
- Crisp Category: Eliot Ness Amber Lager – Sweet 16
- Fruit and Spice Category: Brooklyn Sorachi Ace – 1st round loser
- Hops Category: Burton Baton – Elite 8
- Roast Category: Lucky 7 – 1st round loser
I think I actually picked better in basketball this year. Oh well, there’s always next year. And the winner is roast category contender Maui CoCoNut from Hawaii and I’ve never heard of it. Thankfully the folks at the post gave you a nice write up about it. I’m going to go check it out, maybe I’ll add it to my favorite beer list. Enjoy!
